Welcome to Boundless Society. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our mobile application and services. By using Boundless Society, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Boundless Society, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use our services.

2. Eligibility

You must meet the following requirements to use Boundless Society:

• You must be at least 18 years of age
• You must not be prohibited from using our services under applicable laws
• You must complete our age verification process
• You must not have been previously banned from the platform
• You must provide accurate and truthful information

3. Account Registration and Security

3.1 Account Creation

To use Boundless Society, you must create an account by providing accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

3.2 Account Responsibility

• You are solely responsible for all activity on your account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
• You may not transfer or sell your account to others
• You may not create multiple accounts
• You must keep your contact information up to date

3.3 Age Verification

We use third-party age verification services (Apple Age Assurance, Google Play Age Signals, or Didit) to verify that all users are 18 or older. Providing false information during verification may result in immediate account termination.

4. User Conduct and Community Guidelines

4.1 Acceptable Use

You agree to use Boundless Society only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

• Post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Engage in harassment, bullying, or hate speech
• Share content involving minors or child sexual abuse material
• Spam, solicit, or promote commercial activities without authorization
• Share sexually explicit content without consent
• Violate anyone's intellectual property rights or privacy
• Use the platform for illegal activities
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Scrape, data mine, or use automated tools to access content
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
• Upload viruses, malware, or other malicious code

4.2 Content Moderation

We use a combination of AI moderation (OpenAI for text, Sightengine for images) and manual review to maintain community safety. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms without notice.

4.3 Reporting

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these Terms, please report it immediately using our in-app reporting tools.

5. User Content

5.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of any content you post on Boundless Society. However, by posting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and distribute your content for the purpose of operating and improving our services.

5.2 Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your content. We do not endorse, support, represent, or guarantee the completeness, truthfulness, accuracy, or reliability of any content posted by users.

5.3 Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove, edit, or refuse to post any content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable, without prior notice.

6. Membership and Subscriptions

6.1 Membership Tiers

Boundless Society offers both free and paid membership options:

• Free: Limited features including 1 profile image, 10 messages per day, and basic discovery filters
• Founding Supporter (£2.99/month or £30/year): Enhanced features including up to 6 profile images, 30 messages per day, unlimited groups, and priority visibility
• Premium (£9.99/month): Full access to all features (coming soon)

6.2 Payment and Billing

• All payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your App Store or Play Store account settings
• Prices are subject to change with notice
• We do not store your payment information

6.3 Cancellation and Refunds

• You can cancel your subscription at any time through the App Store or Play Store
• Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period
• Refunds are handled according to Apple App Store and Google Play Store policies
• We do not provide refunds for partial membership periods

7. Intellectual Property Rights

7.1 Our Rights

Boundless Society and all related materials, including the app design, logos, graphics, text, and software, are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws.

7.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use Boundless Society for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

7.3 Restrictions

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our services without express written permission.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of Boundless Society is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our data practices.

9. Termination

9.1 Termination by You

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. This will permanently delete your profile and content within 30 days.

9.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• Behavior that harms other users or the community
• Extended periods of inactivity
• Any reason at our discretion

9.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use Boundless Society immediately ceases. We may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Termination does not affect any rights or obligations that accrued before termination.

10. Disclaimers

Boundless Society is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

We do not warrant that:

• The service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• The results obtained from use will be accurate or reliable
• Any errors will be corrected
• The service will meet your requirements

You use Boundless Society at your own risk. We are not responsible for user content or the conduct of any user.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater
• We are not liable for any loss or damage caused by events beyond our reasonable control
• We are not responsible for the actions, content, or data of third parties

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Boundless Society, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another
• Your content

13. Dispute Resolution

13.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

13.2 Jurisdiction

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Boundless Society shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13.3 Informal Resolution

Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at contact@boundless-society.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Posting the updated Terms in the app
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending an in-app notification or email

Your continued use of Boundless Society after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the service and delete your account.

15. Third-Party Services

Boundless Society may integrate with or link to third-party services (such as payment processors, age verification services, or social media platforms). Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

16. Safety and Security

16.1 User Safety

While we implement safety measures including age verification and content moderation, we cannot guarantee the safety of interactions between users. You are responsible for your own safety when interacting with others.

16.2 Meeting in Person

If you choose to meet other users in person:

• Meet in public places
• Tell friends or family about your plans
• Trust your instincts
• Never share personal financial information

17. Accessibility

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Boundless Society regarding your use of the service.
